Before your windshield is installed, ALL rust and corrosion on the pinch weld must be removed. This is required for the adhesive to bond properly — without clean metal, the windshield will leak.
Rust isn't always visible from the outside. Sometimes it isn't discovered until the old glass is removed during your appointment.
If rust or corrosion is found, we'll contact you first — explain exactly what we found, what the fix costs, and get your approval before any additional work is done.
If you choose not to continue with the repair after that, your vehicle will be held until it's picked up. Glass removal service: $150. This covers removal of the old glass only — it does not include new glass, installation, or any further work.
We do this because your safety is non-negotiable. A windshield that isn't bonded properly is a safety hazard. We will never let a vehicle leave this shop with that risk.
