Glass, bracket, bumper or geometry change
Windshield removal or replacement, camera-bracket disturbance, incorrect glass curvature or frit, front-end collision repair, alignment or suspension work, and disturbance near the grille, emblem or bumper can move a sensor outside Genesis tolerance. A quiet dashboard does not prove correct aiming.

Why Genesis windshield replacement can change ADAS geometry
The forward camera is aligned to the vehicle body and to the original windshield’s bracket position, curvature, frit pattern and optical path. Removing that glass changes the relationship even when a replacement looks identical from the driver seat. Correct glass selection, safe-drive-away cure and the prescribed camera and radar procedure restore the reference geometry before your Genesis returns to Richmond traffic.

A Genesis dealer verifies the vehicle configuration, installs specified glass, connects Genesis-compatible diagnostic tooling and follows the current service procedure for that model year and trim. Static, dynamic, radar or additional sensor steps are included when the equipment list requires them.

Static, dynamic and radar procedure
Genesis static, dynamic and radar calibration are not interchangeable
Genesis procedure requirements vary by VIN, model year and trim. Some vehicles require a stationary fixed-target camera calibration; others add a road-driven dynamic step, and radar-equipped trims can require a separate front-radar re-aim. We do not promise one procedure for every Genesis badge: the VIN determines the final sequence.
Static camera calibration
The Genesis is positioned on a level surface while a technician places the manufacturer-specified target at the required height, distance and angle. Genesis-compatible diagnostic tooling sets the windshield camera baseline to the vehicle’s factory datum.
Dynamic camera calibration
When Genesis service information calls for a dynamic step, the technician completes the prescribed road drive on well-marked roads so the camera can confirm lane and vehicle recognition. A dynamic drive does not replace the static setup when both are required.
Front radar re-aim
Front radar behind the Genesis grille, emblem or bumper has its own aim and datum. Grille, emblem, bumper or collision work can require this separate procedure even when the windshield camera calibration passes.
Why VIN matters: Highway Driving Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance, Lane Keeping and Lane Following equipment can change the required method. We verify the current Genesis procedure for the VIN and document which camera, radar and readiness checks were completed.

The windshield is installed with the correct camera mounting geometry, frit and sensor provisions. We observe the adhesive safe-drive-away cure before calibration or release; the right shape alone is not automatically the right Genesis camera glass.
